“Tracing Our Heritage” Walks – Japanese Cemetery Park

Introduction

An interpretive guided tour of the largest Japanese cemetery in Southeast Asia and the burial ground of Singapore’s early Japanese community. Learn of the Karayuki-san, or Japanese women brought here for prostitution, many of whom died poor and destitute as well as Japanese war criminals who were executed at Changi Prison. Tour ends at Bugis Junction (Hylam & Malay Streets where it all begun).
